SOMOS is a values-led platform, grounded in our mission to support social impact work, justice movements, and grassroots changemakers.

We take seriously our ethical responsibilities and legal obligations when deciding who can use the platform.

As a company registered in England & Wales, we currently restrict access for users based in countries that fall into one or more of the following categories:

  1. Sanctioned Jurisdictions โ€“ Countries that are subject to significant UK government sanctions (including financial or trade restrictions), particularly where those sanctions relate to systemic corruption, human rights abuses, or armed conflict.
  2. International Legal Action โ€“ Countries whose leadership is subject to International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants, or where credible international investigations are underway (e.g. the ICJ has found a plausible case for genocide or crimes against humanity).

We believe these safeguards are necessary to protect the integrity of our platform and to remain in alignment with the work of our partners, many of whom are directly affected by the actions of these regimes.

Working with Impact-Aligned Individuals & NGOs ๐Ÿ’ก

That said, our door is not closed to everyone from these countries. We know there are courageous individuals, civil society organisations, and activists working for justice under extremely difficult conditions.

If you have a customer based in a restricted county and believe their work aligns with our mission, please reach out. Weโ€™re happy to explore access on a case-by-case basis, particularly for grassroots NGOs, diaspora-led initiatives, or non-state affiliated professionals.
