1. Introduction

Welcome to SOMOS!

We're a platform designed to help mission-driven professionals create sustainable, flexible careers by packaging their expertise, attracting clients, and earning independentlyβ€”without recruitment fees or marketplace commissions

By using our web app, website, or any of our services, you agree to these terms and our related policies.

This agreement is between you, the user (whether you're one of our direct customers, one of our customer's clients, or just browsing), and us, SOMOS.

If you wish to set up an account with us, you must provide certain mandatory information.

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

These terms affect your legal rights and obligationsβ€”please read them carefully.

2. Platform features

Our web app offers a range of features designed to help professionals in social impact, DEI, consulting, and advisory roles build a portfolio-based career through independent work.

Our customers can create a personalized microsite, showcase their expertise, sell day passes and retainers, set up discovery calls, manage payments via Stripe, track their earnings, and use strategic business tools to position themselves for the right opportunities.

Their prospective clients can browse profiles, book services, schedule consultations, and engage professionals for project-based or ongoing work.

3. Applicable policies

These platform terms expressly incorporate the following policies:

  • Privacy Policy: Outlines how we process any personal data collected from you or provided by you. By using our site, you consent to this processing and confirm that all data provided by you is accurate.
  • Cookies Policy: Provides det ails about the cookies used on our site.
  • Terms of Service: Governs the re lationship between SOMOS and users of our web app, website, and other services.

By using our site, you agree to abide by all these policies.

  • Inclusivity: Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other identifying characteristics will not be tolerated.
  • Safety: Harassment, threats, or intimidation are strictly prohibited and may result in account termination.
  • Intellectual property: Respect others' rights. Unauthorized copying, distribution, or use of copyrighted material is not allowed.
  • Compliance: Users must follow all applicable local laws and regulations.

Failure to uphold these values may result in action against your account, including termination.

5. Platform limitations

While we provide the platform, we do not directly provide services ourselves.

  • We are not responsible for the quality of services provided by customers to their clients.
  • All payments are processed via Stripeβ€”SOMOS does not hold any funds.

As a customer using our platform:

  • You are responsible for complying with local laws, regulations, and tax obligations.
  • You are responsible for all activities under your SOMOS account.
  • You set and manage your own booking, cancellation, and refund policies.

6. Account management & moderation

We reserve the right to moderate, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate our Terms of Service

This includes the removal of content that does not align with our policies.

7. Termination policy

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You breach any provision of these terms.
  • We cannot verify or authenticate any information you provide.
  • We receive a complaint from another user about your conduct.

If your account is terminated, all associated data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy

You will also lose access to any purchased or created content on the platform.

8. Payment procedures

All payments are processed via Stripe, and financial information is securely stored on their platform.

By using SOMOS for payments, you also agree to Stripe’s terms and conditions.

9. Data protection

We take data protection seriously.

While we do not store sensitive financial or ID information ourselves, we handle your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

10. Content ownership

All content on our platform, including text, images, and code, is owned by SOMOS, unless otherwise stated.

We may feature links and integrations with third-party services, for which we are not responsible.

11. Liability & disclaimer

  • We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
  • We are not liable for any losses related to business, profit, or data.
  • We recommend all interactions occur within the SOMOS platform. We are not liable for any interactions, transactions, or disputes that occur outside of SOMOS.

12. Jurisdiction & dispute resolution

These terms are governed by English law.

Both parties agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

13. Availability

Occasionally, access to the SOMOS platform may be interrupted for maintenance or due to third-party service failures.

We reserve the right to remove content or features without prior notice.

14. General terms

  • These terms and related policies constitute the entire agreement between you and SOMOS.
  • If any provision of these terms is held invalid, the rest will remain in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
  • You consent to receive electronic communications from us (email, text, or notifications).
